PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The "Sparkle" jewelry concept project was pivotal to my graphic and UI design studies. Tasked with creating a fictional luxury silver jewelry e-commerce website, I aimed to develop a visually captivating and user-friendly platform inspired by minimalist design principles.
To create a UI/UX design, this project mimics the actual business environment while using the client's brand guidelines (such as the logo, colour scheme, and font).
My Roles:
Research, Persona, Wireframe, mock-up, web coding and product photography. (Logo and Typography guidelines were provided by the school)
Challenges:
During the "Sparkle" jewelry concept project, several challenges arose, necessitating creative solutions to achieve the desired outcomes:
Limited Photo Resources: Developing a full concept for the website posed a challenge as the photo source for the jewelry was limited to self-captured images. The option of arranging a model photoshoot was not feasible. To address this issue, the focus shifted toward taking high-quality and consistent product photos. A minimalist style was adhered to, with a white and clean background setup, ensuring that the jewelry pieces were presented elegantly and in line with the brand's aesthetic.
Lack of Real Buyer Data: Being a fictional website, there was an absence of past buyer data to define the target audience accurately. To overcome this hurdle, extensive research was conducted through the Internet to gather information on the demographics and preferences of potential buyers. Subsequently, Personas were crafted to represent typical target users. To validate the website's user flow and interface, feedback was sought from friends with similar ages and backgrounds, ensuring the design catered to the intended audience.
PLANNING:
Research:
This concept project drew inspiration from extensive research on the target audience's preferences and demographics. The research findings revealed that buyers.
