Project Overview:
This project involves the creation of a fictitious hotel website using WordPress. The challenge lies in working with the contents and a predetermined number of pages provided by the school, aiming to transform these constraints into a visually appealing and functional representation of the imaginary hotel, ESPA.
Challenges:
The project presents a dual challenge encompassing a structured learning phase of three weeks, dedicated to honing WordPress skills, followed by an intensive two-week application period. These time constraints, coupled with the limitations imposed by the school-provided contents and a predefined number of pages, necessitate a strategic approach to amplify the website's functionality, design, and overall user experience for the fictitious hotel, ESPA.
Approaches:
Acknowledging the pivotal role of user-centric design, I crafted two distinct personas to steer the website's direction. This approach ensures that the design aligns specifically with the needs and preferences of the identified target audience rather than personal inclinations.
To streamline the design process and leverage the potential of the provided content, I embraced a proactive stance. Through thorough research, I identified and selected a free theme that harmonizes with the envisioned aesthetic and functionality for the ESPA hotel website. Before structuring the flow and arrangement of text and images, I invested time in mastering the intricacies of the chosen theme, cultivating a profound understanding of its features and capabilities. This intentional step empowered me to make informed decisions, facilitating a seamless integration of content, design, and user experience within the specified constraints of the project.
Lastly, given the existing constraints of school-provided content and page structures, I honed in on optimizing visual appeal by strategically reshaping the layout of text and images. This involved meticulous placement and formatting to elevate overall aesthetics, enhance user engagement, and effectively convey information. This transformative effort turned limitations into an opportunity for creative optimization.
